WINTER WEATHER IS HERE!  Please make sure your child is dressed appropriately with a warm coat, snowpants, boots, gloves, and a hat.

It is always helpful for your child to have extra clothing at school.....shirt, pants, underwear, and socks.  We have some extra clothing at school, but we don't always have all different sizes.  It's best if children have their own extra clothing right in their locker.

M-STEP Parent Report Video - NOW AVAILABLE

M-STEP Parent Report VideoLast fall, the Michigan Department of Education provided schools and districts with an M-STEP Communication Toolkit in preparation for the release of state, district and building Spring 2015 results. To continue the Department's commitment to support teachers, parents, and students throughout this transition to higher expectations for all students, a newly developed video is now available which summarizes M-STEP and walks viewers through how to read and interpret student scores within the M-STEP Parent Report.

This high quality video could be shown at various school and district meetings and events and/or shared with parents and staff via email or placement on your website.

The video is available with or without Closed Caption. The M-STEP Parent Report Communication videos are available on the MDE M-STEP web page at:  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AM55xZ-ZuNU

Here are a few pictures of Clara Bolen students enjoying the opportunity to learn about coding and how it relates to technology.

ATTENDANCE POLICIES

Students will be expected to attend classes regularly and be on time and stay until the end of the school day in order to benefit completely from the instructional program. From this they will have the opportunity to develop the habit of punctuality, self-discipline, and responsibility. All attendance policies will be applied with equity and consistency, keeping in mind that students are individuals, with individual needs

Other Important Information

  • If your child is unable to tie their shoes for gym, please consider Velcro shoes. This will help the teacher devote the full class time on physical education activities. Thank you for your cooperation.

Just a reminder:
If there will be a change to your child's regular after school plan, bussing or parent pickup, please write a note BEFORE he/she leaves for school in the morning to give to your child's teacher. This helps prevent transportation issues and children's anxiety. Your child's teacher provides time in the morning to accommodate transportation changes.

To better assure your child arrives safely at the correct place, bus pass requests must be in writing unless there is an emergency that develops during the school day. Emergency changes in your child's after school arrangement MUST be made prior to 1:30 p.m.
