Community Choice Credit Union Foundation

2017 GE-Reagan Foundation Scholarship Program

The Bob Swanson Memorial Scholarship - Tennis

This scholarship was established to commemorate a gentleman that loved the game of tennis.  It is offered to high school seniors actively participating in competitive tennis in Northern Michigan.  To be considered you must be:  a permanent resident of the Northern Michigan District of the USTA/Midwest Section and be actively participating in competitive tennis while in high school.  Applicants are not required to play USTA tennis nor are they required to play collegiate tennis.  The scholarship selection is not based on level of tennis achieved but on what kind of student/athlete/individual they are.  Applications can be found in the Tawas Area High School Counseling Office.  Deadline date is: January, 2018. 

NFIB – YEF – Young Entrepreneur Foundation

Graduating seniors who operate their own small business are eligible to receive a 2015 NFIB Young Entrepreneur Award from the NFIB Young Entrepreneur Foundation. 2017 Student-View Scholarship Program

The Michigan Sugar Queen Scholarship offers one $2,000.00 scholarship and two $1,000.00 scholarships to three top candidates. Michigan Retailers Association

The Michigan Retailers Association is offering a $1,500.00 (4 year college) or $1,000.00 (2 year college) scholarship to a student who is employed at a business or whose parents are and that is a member of MRA. Check with employer to see if they are members. Awards are not based on financial need. Applications and information can be found online at: www.retailers.com  (under the Education & Events tab). Applications must be requested by March 15 and submitted by April 1, 2018.

AAA Michigan School Safety Patrol Scholarship

The State of Michigan is offering FOUR High School seniors an opportunity for a "AAA Michigan School Safety Patrol" scholarship worth $1,000.00. You must have documented proof of participation in AAA's School Safety Patrol program, good academic standing and a strong record of involvement in the community and/or extracurricular activities. Applications can be found in the counseling office. Deadline to the counseling office: April, 2018.

Rosa Parks Scholarship Foundation

This is a $2,000.00 non-renewable scholarship offered to graduating seniors. Winners are selected on the basis of scholarship, leadership, financial need, and dedication to the civil rights principles of Rosa L. Parks, whose historic stand against racial prejudice in 1955 brought her national recognition. Applicants must: Graduate by August 2017, have a 2.5 GPA or above, describe financial need, complete application form and essay, document community activities, confirm admission to university or college, furnish official copies of high school transcript and ACT results and furnish three letters of recommendation. Michigan Education Association Scholarship

The Michigan Education Association (MEA) offers a scholarship to public high school graduates and returning college students. Must include: Official high school transcript, personal resume and two letters of recommendation. Michigan Society of Professional Engineers

Michigan Society of Professional Engineers has 36 scholarships available to high school seniors! Get online and check them out. The American Legion Scholarships

Medical Career Scholarship 

A $500.00 scholarship for men and women pursuing medical careers. Candidates must be a sons or daughters, granddaughters or grandsons of veterans of Foreign Wars ( WWI, WWII, Korea, Vietnam, Grenada & Lebanon, Panama, Persian Gulf to present). National President's Scholarship 

Candidates for this award shall be daughters, granddaughters, sons or grandsons of veterans who served in the Armed Forces ( WWI, WWII, Korea, Vietnam, Grenada & Lebanon, Panama, Persian Gulf to present). Applicants must be in their senior year of high school. Applicant must complete 50 hours of volunteer service within the community. An essay is required. High School Senior Scholarship Competition - Rare Everyday Heroes

This scholarship is open to high school seniors who are planning on attending a Michigan college or university. Students must submit an original essay (one-page, single spaced) about someone whom they consider to be an Everyday Hero because, through their life's work, they are making a difference for others. Michigan Oil & Gas Producers Educational Foundation Scholarship

The Michigan Oil & Gas Producers Education Foundation is offering a $500.00 scholarship to a senior that will be pursuing a degree in an energy field of study. MHSAA Scholar-Athlete Award

Senior student athletes (male & female) meeting the requirements of: 3.5 GPA and having earned at least one varsity letter in an MHSAA sport can submit an application for the MHSAA Scholar-Athlete. Stop in the counseling office for information or visit: www.MHSAA.com.  Applications must be returned to the counseling office by: November, 2017. 

AES Engineers Scholarship

This scholarship is awarded on the basis of character, as determined by evaluated essays submitted. You are not required to take engineering courses to be eligible. Submit essays of no more than 1000 words in answer to one of the questions that are posted on website. Full details are available on website at: http://www.aesengineers.com/scholarships. There is no application packet for this award. Be sure to include your full name as well as the name of your school you are attending and your plans after graduation. Amount of award: $500.00.
