Hello and welcome to my page!  I would like to tell you a little more about my teaching background here.  First of all, I've been teaching in my own classroom since 2007,  here at Tawas Schools since 2008, with several years of subbing and long term subbing previous to 2007 at many surrounding schools.  While luckily I am able to spend most of my day in the science classroom, which is my favorite subject, I have other qualifications that would allow me to teach any self-contained elementary classroom and all subjects up through 5th grade, or any math or science class up through 8th grade, so sometimes my schedule may vary slightly from year to year.

My schedule has become quite unique over the last several years. A few years ago, life science became the discipline that I would focus on with my 6th-8th grade middle school students all year, working with each grade level at different times in twelve week trimesters.   My first twelve weeks will consist of 7th grade life science, then 8th grade life science, and finally I'll end the school year with 6th grade life science.  This year, I'll also work with a group of approximately twenty-five 5th graders for science for the entire year, however this grade level will learn a little from each of the following disciplines: physical, earth, and life science.

Middle school science classes are my favorite classes to teach.  A priority of mine with science is to complete hands-on projects when possible! The more hands-on experiments that we can complete, along with incorporating engineering practices, both inside and outside of the classroom, the more I feel we can learn!  Parent volunteers may be requested for larger projects, field trips, or place-based learning trips, so if you don't mind volunteering with our classes, please stop by the office to fill out a parent volunteer form and be sure to let me know that you are interested!

I enjoy working with your children in the classroom and I am available to address any questions or concerns that you may have by phone or email.  If you feel that we need to meet, you can set up meetings and phone conferences both before or after school, or we can meet on my prep hour or lunch break.  If you ever have any questions, please feel free to contact me using the information that is also listed below.

Thank you,
