State Choir Festival

7th and 8th grade choir

Our 7th and 8th grade choir did really well at State Choir Festival yesterday! Per MSVMA (Michigan Schools Vocal Music Association) rules, JH/MS groups don't receive an actual score. It is just meant for them to have the experience of going and seeing how States works. We still got comments from the judges and had a 15 minute workshop with Dr. Jeffrey Murdock, Director of Choral Studies at the University of Arkansas. They all had great things to say and it was a very fun and positive experience. We also had the chance to watch a couple of groups (both were audition-only HS Chamber Choirs) perform and the students got to see a little bit of CMU's campus. It was overall a wonderful day and the students represented Tawas well! We are very proud of them all!
