Welcome to Kindergarten! I am very happy to be working with our youngest learners here at Clara Bolen Elementary and giving them their first school experience. In the words of one of my favorite teachers... "It's time to take chances, make mistakes and get messy!" Ms. Valerie Frizzle. I have a Bachelor of Arts degree from Eastern Michigan University, a Master's degree in Elementary Education from the University of Phoenix, and endorsements in Early Childhood Education and English from Saginaw Valley State University. I have been teaching in Michigan for 20+ years; my experience is in preschool, kindergarten, first grade, second grade and Title 1. Prior to that, I owned and operated a licensed preschool in Commerce, Michigan, for 8 years. I have now been with the Tawas Area Schools family since 2010. In addition to teaching kindergarten, I also help plan and run STEAM Night at Clara Bolen. I am originally from Royal Oak, Michigan. My family and I relocated to Northern Michigan in 2002 and we absolutely adore it up here! My husband and I have two amazing children; both graduates of Tawas Area High! We are also "mom & dad" to a big, lazy cat and a very energetic Lab! Additionally, I have two lovely stepdaughters with families of their own. My extended family and I enjoy lake and woods activities!
