Welcome to Tawas Area Schools!

My name is Mrs. Sarah Danek, and I am honored and privileged to serve as the Superintendent of Tawas Area Schools. As a proud graduate of Tawas Area High School and a lifelong member of this community, I have deep roots in our school system and a strong commitment to its continued success.

After graduating from Tawas, I attended Saginaw Valley State University, where I earned a Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education, a Master’s degree in Principalship, and an Education Specialist degree in Central Office Administration and Superintendency. I began my career in education with nearly a decade of teaching in Bay City Public Schools. I later returned home to serve as Principal of Clara Bolen Elementary and then as Principal of Tawas Area Middle/High School, providing me the opportunity to work with students across all grade levels.

In my current role as Superintendent, I remain deeply committed to ensuring that every student receives a high-quality education in a safe, supportive, and engaging environment. I believe in the power of strong relationships, and I look forward to working closely with our dedicated staff, students, families, and community partners to build on the tradition of excellence that defines Tawas Area Schools.

Together, we can continue to empower our students to reach their full potential and become responsible, independent citizens. I encourage you to stay connected, get involved, and help us make a positive impact in the lives of our learners.

With gratitude,
Mrs. Sarah Danek
