Welcome to Tawas Area Schools!
My name is Mrs. Sarah Danek and I am honored and privileged to serve as the Principal of Tawas Area Middle/High School. Raised in the Tawas area myself, I have strong roots in this school system. I understand the tradition of academic excellence and will strive to uphold that reputation. After graduating from Tawas Area High School, I attended Saginaw Valley State University where I earned my Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education, Master’s Degree in Principalship, and my Education Specialist Degree in Central Office and Superintendence. For almost ten years, I was an educator with Bay City Public Schools before serving as the Clara Bolen Elementary principal for four years. I am excited for this transition to 5-12!
I look forward to building relationships with staff, students, families and community members. Some of my goals as principal include guiding and supporting staff and students to reach their highest potentials, continuing to promote a safe and nurturing learning environment, and continuing to move forward with research-based educational trends proven to be effective in promoting learning for all students.
My belief is that, together, we can empower our students to reach their full potential while becoming independent, responsible citizens. Please feel free to stop in and introduce yourself. Together we can make a difference!
